9-10 Ann Sauer will give a demonstration of the Destiny automation system.

  • 10:30-11:30 breakout small group sharing session (bring items, ideas, or questions for sharing)
    • The Broadband Data Improvement Act was passed by the House and Senate and is expected to be signed by Pres. Bush soon. This will require schools to teach students about Internet safety, appropriate online behavior, sexual predators, and cyber bullying.
    • A recent article in School Library Journal titled “Has the Newbery Lost Its Way?” says that the winners are snubbed by kids, disappointing to librarians, and have few fans

    • AGENDA: In the morning, Valerie Brasseale will speak to us. She is a representative for Follett. She will be sharing with us how to use Titlewave to better serve our needs. She will help us do collection analysis and collection development. She is very informative and will be a great resource for our libraries. In the afternoon, our very own Stephanie Labert will be sharing her knowledge on Wikispaces. She has created a Wikispace for us to use to share information and communicate with each other. This is a wonderful new tool with many applications. Stephanie will demonstrate the skills we need to use Wikispaces most effectively.
